Adopted on Tuesday, July 8, by the National Assembly, the law aimed at "removing constraints on the practice of farming," known as the "Duplomb Law," has caused a stir among farmers and associations in the department of the senator who initiated the law.

"I am dismayed," "it's a disaster," "it's not a law for all farmers but for farmers." The adoption on Monday of the law by LR senator Laurent Duplomb is far from unanimous among the department's farmers . The text notably contains the reauthorization of acetamiprid, a pesticide from the neonicotinoid family that is highly toxic to pollinators, simplified access to plant protection products, the facilitation of the installation of mega-basin type water storage facilities as well as measures facilitating the expansion or creation of intensive livestock buildings.

Senator satisfied with the adoption of his law

The senator from Haute-Loire said he was "satisfied" with this adoption, "which will be good for agriculture. Because no one can say today that it is doing well." Before adding: "We had lost competitiveness, and thanks to my law, we will be able to remove constraints on competition."
